Okay, folks, let’s talk about making a peach cobbler. But not just any peach cobbler. We’re talking about a super easy, almost-cheating kind of peach cobbler using cake mix. I’m all about shortcuts in the kitchen, especially when it comes to dessert, so I gave this method a shot, and I have to share the results.
Getting Started
First, I gathered my ingredients. This is where it gets ridiculously simple:
- One box of yellow cake mix. Seriously, that’s it for the “batter.”
- Canned peaches. I used two large cans of sliced peaches in heavy syrup. You can use fresh peaches if you want.
- Butter. One stick of butter, which is half a cup.
- Some cinnamon,Some suger,Some nutmeg. Just a pinch of each.
Putting It All Together
Preheat oven to 350°F(about 175°C).I started by pouring the canned peaches, syrup and all, into a 9×13 inch baking dish. No need to drain them; that sugary syrup is part of the magic.

Then sprinkle some cinnamon, suger, nutmeg on top of those peaches.
Next, I sprinkled the dry cake mix evenly over the peaches. Don’t mix it in, just sprinkle it right on top. It looked a little weird at this point, but I trusted the process.
Finally, I sliced up that stick of butter into thin pats and arranged them evenly over the cake mix. Again, no mixing, just lay those butter slices on top.
Bake,Bake,Bake
I popped the dish into the preheated oven and baked it for about 45-50 minutes. I was looking for the top to be golden brown and bubbly, and for the cake mix to look fully cooked, not powdery.
The Result
I pulled that beautiful, bubbly cobbler out of the oven and let it cool for a * finally, it’s done.
The cake mix and butter had combined to form a surprisingly delicious, crumbly topping, and the peaches were warm and gooey underneath. I served it up with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream, and, honestly, it was amazing.
So, there you have it – my super easy, cake-mix peach cobbler experiment. It’s a winner in my book, and perfect for those times when you need a quick and satisfying dessert.
