Okay, so I’ve been seeing these Lucky Charms treats all over TikTok, and my sweet tooth was screaming at me to try them. I found a super simple recipe that uses the microwave, so I thought, “Why not?” Here’s how it went down:
Gathering My Supplies
First things first, I needed to get my ingredients together. It’s pretty basic stuff, really:
- A box of Lucky Charms cereal (duh!)
- A bag of mini marshmallows
- Some butter – I used salted, because that’s what I had
- A microwave-safe bowl – a big one!
- A spatula or spoon for mixing
- A pan to press the treats into – I used an 8×8 inch one
- Some cooking spray to grease the pan
Melting Time
I started by dumping about half the bag of marshmallows into the big bowl. Then, I added like 3 tablespoons of butter. I just eyeballed it, honestly. Popped that in the microwave for about a minute, and kept a close eye on it. You want the marshmallows to be all puffed up and melted, but not burnt!

Once it looked good and gooey, I took it out and gave it a good stir with the spatula to make sure the butter and marshmallows were all mixed together. It should be pretty smooth.
Mixing It Up
This is where the magic happens. I poured in a bunch of the Lucky Charms cereal into the melted marshmallow mixture. I didn’t measure, I just added enough until it looked like a good ratio of cereal to marshmallow. You want every piece of cereal to be coated, you know?
Important: I picked out most of the marshmallows from the cereal at first and saved them to mix in at the end, so they stay nice and colorful and don’t all melt. It’s all about the presentation!
I stirred and stirred until it was all combined. It gets a little sticky, but that’s okay.
Pressing and Cooling
I greased my pan up with cooking spray, make sure the treats won’t stick to the pan, and then I spread the Lucky Charms mixture into the pan. Used the spatula to press it down evenly. And, finally the add marshmallows I had set aside.
Then came the hardest part – waiting! I let it cool down completely, which took maybe 30 minutes? You can pop it in the fridge to speed things up, but I was too impatient to even do that.
The Taste Test
Once they were cool, I cut them into squares and… oh my goodness. So good! They’re sweet, chewy, and have that classic Lucky Charms flavor. Definitely a win in my book. And super easy, too! It maybe took me 10 minutes of actual work, the rest was just waiting. I’d totally make these again, maybe even for a party or something.
