Okay, so today I wanted to try something different in the kitchen. I saw this recipe online, “Chicken and Dressing” from Paula Deen. Sounds fancy, right? Well, it seemed easy enough, so I gave it a go.
First off, I grabbed some old bread I had lying around. The recipe mentioned using day-old bread, so I thought, why not? I tore it up into little pieces – well, more like cubes, but you get the idea. It was kind of satisfying, to be honest.
Then, I cooked the chicken. Nothing special here, just boiled it until it was cooked through. After it cooled down a bit, I shredded it. This part took a while, but I put on some music, and it was kind of therapeutic, you know?

Next up, I mixed the chicken with some mayo. I also saw something about using cream of chicken soup, but I didn’t have any, so I skipped that. Mixed it all up until it looked all creamy and stuff.
- Get some old bread.
- Boil the chicken.
- Shred the chicken.
- Mix chicken and mayo.
- Bake it.
The Baking Part
I dumped everything into a baking dish and popped it in the oven. I set the timer, but I kept checking on it because, well, I didn’t want it to burn.
Finally, it was done! It looked pretty good, all golden and bubbly. I let it cool for a bit, and then I dug in. It was… pretty good! Not exactly like the picture, but hey, I made it. And it was tasty, so that’s a win in my book.
So, yeah, that was my adventure with Paula Deen’s Chicken and Dressing. Not too shabby for a regular day in the kitchen. Might try it again sometime, maybe with the soup next time. Who knows?
