Okay, so I’ve got this can of blackberry pie filling sitting in my pantry, right? I bought it a while back, thinking I’d make a pie, but, well, life happened, and it never did. But the other day, I was thinking, “There’s gotta be more to do with this stuff than just pie.” So I started poking around, seeing what other people are doing with it.
Turns out, there’s a whole world of stuff you can make with it! Who knew?
First off, I learned that you can freeze the stuff. Apparently, you can just scoop it into a freezer bag or line a pan with foil, pour it in, and pop it in the freezer. This is perfect if you’re like me and buy things with good intentions but don’t always get around to using them right away. Now I can save it for later without worrying about it going bad.

But then, I got to thinking about what to actually make with it, besides, you know, pie. And that’s where things got interesting.
One thing I tried, and let me tell you, it was a game-changer, was no-bake cheesecake. No joke, this was super easy. You just mix the pie filling with some cream cheese, a little sugar, and some whipped cream, and boom, you’ve got yourself a fancy-looking dessert that took, like, no effort at all.
- Mix the pie filling with cream cheese, sugar, and whipped cream.
- Pour it into a graham cracker crust.
- Chill it in the fridge for a few hours.
That’s it! It’s almost embarrassing how easy it is. I even made it for some friends who came over, and they were all impressed. Little did they know…
Then, I stumbled upon this thing called “dump cake.” Now, the name doesn’t sound super appealing, I’ll admit, but trust me on this one. It’s basically just dumping the pie filling into a dish, topping it with some cake mix and butter, and baking it. I tried a “Black Forest” version, where I mixed the blackberry filling with some chocolate cake mix. Let me tell you, it was rich, decadent, and ridiculously simple. Not like that’s a bad thing, ya know?
I also tried other interesting recipes:
- Pancakes: I added a spoonful of pie filling to my pancake mix. It was super simple to do and made the pancakes taste better.
- Pumpkin Pie Dip: I made a dip with only a few ingredients, which was really easy.
So yeah, that’s my little adventure with canned blackberry pie filling. Who knew it could be so versatile? I’m definitely going to be experimenting more with this stuff. It’s a great way to whip up something sweet without spending hours in the kitchen. And let’s be honest, sometimes you just need a quick and easy dessert fix, right?
