Okay, so I saw this recipe floating around for maple sausage cream cheese crescent rolls and I thought, “That sounds kinda weird… but also kinda amazing?” I’m a sucker for anything sweet and savory, so I had to give it a shot. Plus, it looked pretty easy, and I’m all about those simple recipes.
Getting Started
First, I grabbed all the ingredients. You know, the usual suspects:
- Crescent roll dough (I just used the Pillsbury kind, the big ones)
- Cream cheese (I went full-fat, because why not?)
- Maple sausage (the breakfast kind, already cooked and crumbled)
- Maple syrup (the real stuff, not that fake pancake syrup)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting on top, making it all pretty)
Putting It All Together
I preheated my oven to 375°F, like the crescent roll package said. Then, I unrolled the dough and separated it into those little triangles. Next, I took a block of cream cheese and warmed up.

Now for the fun part. I mixed the cooked sausage with a good glug of maple syrup. I didn’t measure, just went with my gut. I wanted it nice and maple-y! Then, I spread a thin layer of the softened cream cheese on each crescent roll triangle. I tried to keep it even, but, you know, I’m not perfect.
After that, I spooned some of the maple sausage mixture onto each triangle, on top of the cream cheese. Again, I didn’t measure, just eyeballed it. I rolled them up, starting from the wide end, like you’re supposed to. They looked kinda messy, but I figured they’d puff up in the oven and look all golden and delicious.
Baking and Finishing Touches
I placed the rolls on a baking sheet (I lined it with parchment paper because I hate scrubbing pans). Into the oven they went! I baked them for about 12-15 minutes, until they were golden brown and looked all puffed up and delicious. The kitchen smelled AMAZING, by the way.
While they were still warm, I dusted them with powdered sugar. Because everything is better with powdered sugar, right? I let them cool for a few minutes (the hardest part!), and then… taste test time!
The Verdict
Oh. My. Goodness. These things were SO good! The sweetness of the maple syrup and powdered sugar, the saltiness of the sausage, the tanginess of the cream cheese… it all just worked together perfectly. And the crescent rolls were so flaky and buttery. Seriously, I could have eaten the whole batch myself.
This is definitely a recipe I’ll be making again. It’s easy, it’s delicious, and it’s perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even a snack. If you’re looking for something a little different and super tasty, give these maple sausage cream cheese crescent rolls a try. You won’t regret it!
