Okay, I got this idea the other day to make popsicles, but not just any popsicles. I wanted to do something a little different, you know? So I thought, why not combine strawberries and blueberries and put them on a stick? It sounded fun, and I was pretty sure my kids would love it because, well, what kid doesn’t love popsicles, right? Plus, it’s a sneaky way to get them to eat more fruits.

First, I grabbed a bunch of fresh strawberries and blueberries from the fridge. I washed them real good under the tap. Then I chopped up the strawberries into smaller pieces. After that, I tossed the strawberries into my blender. I added a little bit of sugar, just a couple of spoons, some lemon juice, and a splash of water. I blended everything until it was all smooth and nice, like a smoothie.

Next, I took out my popsicle molds. If you don’t have those, don’t worry, you can use small paper cups or even an ice cube tray, just get creative. Anyway, I poured the strawberry mix into the molds, but not all the way to the top. I left some space for the blueberry part.

For the blueberries, I basically did the same thing. I put them in the blender, added a bit of sugar and lemon juice, and a tiny bit of water. Blended it all up until smooth.

Now, here’s where I mixed it up a little. I carefully poured the blueberry mixture on top of the strawberry layer in the molds. I did not fill it up completely, though. It will expand when freezing. Then I grabbed some popsicle sticks and stuck one into each mold, right in the center.

I carefully placed the molds into the freezer. I made sure they were sitting flat so they wouldn’t spill. Now, the hard part – waiting. It took a few hours for them to freeze completely. You gotta be patient, it’s worth it.

Once they were frozen solid, I ran the molds under a little warm water for a few seconds. This helps loosen up the popsicles so you can pull them out easily. And there they were, my strawberry and blueberry popsicles, looking all colorful and yummy.

  • Smell: They smelled amazing, by the way, like a fresh summer day.
  • Taste: The kids absolutely loved them, and I gotta say, I did too.
  • Result: They were sweet, a little tangy, and super refreshing.

It was a hit! And honestly, it wasn’t hard at all. I’m definitely making these again. Maybe next time I’ll try other fruits, like peaches or something. The possibilities are endless. Making popsicles – it is easier than you might think.
