Okay, so the other day I was craving something sweet, but also kinda healthy, you know? I had some fruit in the fridge and remembered this cherry pie filling I bought on a whim. I figured, why not combine them? Let’s try to make a fruit salad with cherry pie filling!
Getting Started
First, I gathered my ingredients. This is what I found in my kitchen:
- A can of cherry pie filling (obviously!)
- A banana, starting to get a little brown
- A handful of grapes, some red, some green
- A slightly sad-looking apple
- A can of mandarin oranges, packed in juice
Making the Salad
I started to do it!

First I grabbed a big bowl. No need for anything fancy.
Then,I peeled the banana and sliced it into rounds. I threw those into the bowl.
Next, I washed the grapes and pulled them off the stems.
Then tossed in the bowl.
I cored and chopped the apple into bite-sized pieces, adding them to the mix.
Then came the fun part! I opened the can of mandarin oranges, drained off most of the juice, and dumped them in.

And I scooped a generous amount of the cherry pie filling into the bowl. I didn’t use the whole can, maybe about half?
I gently mixed everything together, making sure not to crush the fruit too *’s looking prety good!
The Final Result
I took a bite, and… wow! It was actually really good! The sweetness of the cherry pie filling perfectly complemented the other fruits. The banana added a nice creaminess. The grapes gave a little burst of freshness. The apple provided a bit of crunch. And the mandarin oranges, those little guys, just popped with juicy goodness.
It was a super simple dessert (or snack, or even breakfast, I guess!). And a great way to use up some fruit that was about to go bad. I definitely recommend giving it a try if you’re looking for something easy and tasty.
It is my first time to do so,but I think I will try it next time!
