Well, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout this here butterscotch schnapps and orange juice thing. Sounds fancy, don’t it? But I reckon it ain’t too complicated. My granddaughter, she likes them mixed drinks, always experimentin’ with somethin’ new.
This butterscotch schnapps, they say it’s sweet. Like that candy, you know? The butterscotch one. And you mix it with plain ol’ orange juice. I guess that cuts the sweetness some. Like when you put a little water in your iced tea when it’s too strong.
They say you can put other stuff in it too, this butterscotch schnapps. Like that Kahlua stuff, or Irish cream. I don’t know ’bout all that. Sounds like somethin’ you’d have after supper, instead of pie.
This one fella, he was tellin’ me ’bout a “Breakfast Shot”. Now, I don’t know ’bout you, but that sounds a little wild for breakfast. But he says it’s got that butterscotch schnapps, some whiskey, and orange juice. And they put bacon with it! Bacon! Can you imagine? I’d rather have my bacon on the side, with some eggs, thank you very much. But, I like orange slice with it. That’s good.
Some folks like their drinks all dolled up. Like them milkshake things. They put ice cream in ’em, and whipped cream, and chocolate. That ain’t no drink, that’s a whole dang dessert! I reckon if you’re gonna have somethin’ like that, you might as well just have a bowl of ice cream.
I remember back in my day, we didn’t have all these fancy drinks. We had our beer, and our whiskey, and that was that. But I guess times change. Young folks today, they like to try new things. And there ain’t nothin’ wrong with that, I suppose. This butterscotch schnapps and orange juice, well it’s nothin’ like what we had as kids.
Still, I can see why people like that butterscotch taste. It’s kinda like caramel, but different. Sweet and smooth. I used to love them butterscotch candies when I was a little girl. My mama used to keep ’em in a little dish on the table. I always liked it when she makes some.
Now this here “Heath Bar” drink, I don’t know what that is. But it’s got the butterscotch schnapps in it, so it must be sweet. I bet my granddaughter would like that one. She’s always tryin’ new things. I bet there are many ways to use butterscotch schnapps and orange juice.
And this other one, “Vegas Bomb”. Sounds kinda dangerous, don’t it? They say it’s a party drink. I reckon young folks like to have their fun. Me, I’m happy with my cup of coffee in the mornin’ and maybe a little somethin’ stronger in the evenin’.

This butterscotch schnapps, it’s somethin’ else. I never thought I’d see the day when people were puttin’ butterscotch in their drinks. But like I said, times change. And I guess that ain’t always a bad thing. Maybe I’ll try a little sip of that butterscotch schnapps and orange juice sometime. Just to see what all the fuss is about. But just a sip, mind you. I don’t want to be fallin’ over like some of them young folks at the dance hall.
Well, I reckon that’s all I got to say ’bout this here drink. It’s a new world, with all sorts of new things to drink and eat. This butterscotch schnapps and orange juice thing, it’s just one of ’em. And who knows, maybe it’ll become a classic, like my old-fashioned apple pie. Only time will tell, I suppose. Only time will tell.
