Okay, so I tried making this thing called an “angel food cake mix cherry pie filling” dessert. It sounded pretty simple and tasty, so I thought, why not give it a shot? I’m not much of a baker, but I do enjoy a good, easy dessert.
First, I grabbed a box of angel food cake mix from the store. I also picked up a can of cherry pie filling. I mean, those are the two main things, right?
Getting Started
- Preheated the oven. The box said 350 degrees, so that’s what I did.
- Greased a baking pan. I used a 9×13 inch one because that’s what I had.
- Mixed the cake mix. I just followed the instructions on the box. You basically add water and beat it for a while. It got all fluffy and stuff.
Putting It Together
Then, I poured half of the cake batter into the pan and spread it out evenly. After that, I spooned the cherry pie filling over the batter. It was kinda messy, but I managed to cover most of it. Finally, I poured the rest of the batter on top and smoothed it out as best as I could.

Baking Time
I popped the pan into the oven and set a timer. The box said something like 30-40 minutes, so I went with 35 to be safe. While it was baking, I cleaned up the kitchen a bit. You know, washed the bowl, put away the ingredients, the usual.
The Final Result
After 35 minutes, I checked on the cake. I stuck a toothpick in the center, and it came out clean, so I figured it was done. I took it out of the oven and let it cool for a while. It smelled pretty good, I gotta say.
Once it was cool enough, I cut myself a piece and tried it. The cake was all light and fluffy, and the cherry filling was sweet and a little tart. It was actually a nice combination! I’m not gonna lie, I was pretty impressed with myself. I might even make this again sometime. It’s definitely an easy dessert to whip up if you’re in a hurry or just want something simple and sweet.
