Best Pineapple Alcoholic Drinks in a Can: Taste Test & Review

Okay, here’s my blog post about making canned pineapple alcoholic drinks:

So, I’ve been seeing these fancy canned cocktails everywhere, and a lot of them are, you know, okay. But I wanted something with a real pineapple punch, and I figured, why not just make my own? I’m no expert, but it turned out way better than I expected!

The Idea

It all started with a craving. I was at a BBQ, and someone had some hard seltzer, which, you know, is fine. But I really wanted something tropical. Something with that real, tangy pineapple flavor. I got thinking… what if I could just, like, can that?

Gathering Supplies

First, I needed pineapples, obviously. Fresh is the best. So, I grabbed a couple of good-looking pineapples from the store, nice and ripe. You gotta give ’em a good sniff – the riper, the sweeter the juice.

Then, the booze. I’m a simple guy, so I went with some decent vodka. Nothing too fancy, but not the bottom-shelf stuff either. You want something that won’t overpower the pineapple.

And finally, I picked up some plain seltzer water. This would give it the fizz and lighten it up a bit. Also important are the cans and, because I do not have a canning machine, I simply decided to reuse the ones I have.

Making the Magic (aka. Juice and Mixing)

  • First up, chopping that pineapple. This took a while, gotta be honest. I cut off the top and bottom, sliced off the skin, and then chopped it into chunks. My knife skills aren’t the best, but hey, it got the job done.
  • Next, juice time! I don’t have a fancy juicer, so I just used my blender. I tossed in the pineapple chunks, gave it a good whirl, and then strained it through a cheesecloth to get rid of the pulp. I wanted a smooth drink, not a smoothie.
  • Now for the fun part: mixing! I poured the pineapple juice into a big pitcher, then added the vodka. I didn’t measure anything precisely. It was a bit of a taste-and-see situation. I started with a little, tasted, added more, tasted again… you get the idea.
  • Finally, I topped it off with the seltzer water. Again, no exact measurements, just went by taste. I wanted it bubbly but not too diluted.

The Cans

I washed the cans I had with soap and hot water, very carefully, to avoid any accidents. And I filled them up leaving some space at the top.

The Final Result

I chilled a can in the freezer for about half an hour (don’t want it to explode!), and then… the taste test. And you know what? It was actually really good! The pineapple flavor was strong, the vodka gave it a nice kick, and the seltzer made it refreshing. It was way better than those store-bought ones, no contest.

It’s definitely something I’ll be making again. Maybe next time I’ll try it with rum, or add a little lime juice. The possibilities are endless! It was a fun little experiment, and I ended up with a tasty drink. Win-win!
