Okay, so the other day, I was trying to come up with a fun food challenge, and I thought, “Hey, let’s try to eat fruits that start with every letter of the alphabet!” Sounds easy, right? Well, it got tricky pretty fast. When I got to the letter ‘J’, I was totally stumped. I started by racking my brain, thinking of all the fruits I know, but nothing came to mind.
My ‘J’ Fruit Journey
So, I grabbed my phone and started searching online. At first, I just typed in “fruits that start with J,” hoping for a quick list. I scrolled through some pretty basic results, but most of them were just repeats or not very helpful.
Then, I got a little smarter. I started looking at lists of “exotic fruits” and “unusual fruits.” That’s when things got interesting! I found a few options that I’d never even heard of before.
- Jaboticaba: Apparently, this one’s a Brazilian grape-like fruit that grows right on the trunk of the tree! How weird is that?
- Juniper Berry: Okay, these are technically used more like a spice, especially in gin, but hey, they’re the fruit of the juniper plant, so I counted it.
- Japanese Plum (Ume): I’d seen these pickled before, so that was cool to add to the list.
After all that searching and learning , I finally had a decent list. The next challenge will do some shopping.
It was way more of a learning experience than I expected!
