Okay, so I’ve been seeing these fancy baked fish recipes all over the internet, and I thought, why not give it a shot? I mean, how hard can it be, right? I decided to go with a yogurt mustard coating ’cause it sounded kind of healthy and I had both in my fridge.
First, I grabbed some fish fillets from the grocery store. I just picked whatever looked freshest. I preheated my oven, I think it was on broil, which is like the super-hot setting. I wasn’t really paying attention, to be honest.
Then, I started chopping up some onions. I like onions, so I chopped up, like, two whole ones. I fried them in a pan with some oil until they were all soft and golden. While those were cooking, I mixed the yogurt and mustard in a bowl. I used regular plain yogurt and some Dijon mustard I found in the back of my fridge. I didn’t measure anything, just eyeballed it until it looked like a sauce.

- Get some fish fillets.
- Chop up some onions.
- Preheat the oven to like super hot.
- Mix yogurt and mustard together.
Next, I took a baking dish and spread the cooked onions on the bottom. Then I laid the fish fillets on top of the onions. It was kind of like making a lasagna, but with fish. I poured the yogurt mustard mixture all over the fish, making sure to cover every bit of it. It was a bit messy, but whatever.
Getting it in the Oven
I popped the dish in the oven and let it bake for… I don’t know, maybe 15-20 minutes? I just kept checking it until the fish looked cooked through and flaky. It smelled pretty good, I gotta say.
When it was done, I took it out and let it cool for a few minutes. I served it with some rice and a salad I threw together. It actually turned out pretty decent! The fish was moist and the yogurt mustard coating gave it a nice tangy flavor. I’d definitely make it again, maybe with different types of fish next time. Overall, not a bad kitchen experiment!
