Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another kitchen adventure. Today, we’re diving into the world of hot chocolate. Specifically, I’m gonna show you how I whipped up a mug of hot chocolate using Ghirardelli cocoa powder. I’m not much for following recipes to the letter, so this was a bit of an experiment for me.
I started by gathering my ingredients. Obviously, the star of the show was the Ghirardelli hot chocolate mix. I also grabbed some milk, cause that’s what I prefer. I saw online you can use water, but nah, milk gives it that creamy goodness. I thought I might use salt or vanilla extract. I like making it special, too.
Getting Down to Business
First, I heated up about 6 ounces of milk in a small saucepan. You don’t want it boiling, just nice and hot. While that was going on, I dumped a packet of the Ghirardelli cocoa powder into my favorite mug. Once the milk was hot, I slowly poured it into the mug, stirring as I went. Gotta make sure that cocoa powder dissolves completely, no one likes a lumpy hot chocolate!
Tweaking the Flavor
Now, this is where I like to get a little creative. I remembered reading somewhere that a pinch of salt can actually enhance the chocolate flavor, so I tossed in a tiny bit of salt. You couldn’t really taste it, but I think it did make the chocolate pop a little more. Then, feeling fancy, I added a splash of vanilla extract, just a splash. It added a nice little something-something to the overall flavor. And it smells good, too.
The Final Touches
Alright, so the hot chocolate was basically done at this point. But come on, a hot chocolate isn’t complete without some toppings, right? I had some mini marshmallows on hand, so I threw a handful of those on top. They started melting into the hot chocolate, creating this gooey, sweet layer. It’s the best part, honestly.
- heat up milk
- pour Ghirardelli hot chocolate mix into a mug
- pour hot milk into the mug and stir
- add a pinch of salt
- add a splash of vanilla extract
- put marshmallows on the top
And there you have it, my friends. That’s how I made a pretty darn good mug of hot chocolate using Ghirardelli cocoa powder. It’s super easy, and you can totally adjust it to your own liking. Next time, I might try adding a sprinkle of cinnamon or maybe even some whipped cream. The possibilities are endless!
