Okay, so today I tried making this thing called “Orange Fluff Salad.” Sounds kinda weird, right? But trust me, it’s pretty good. And super easy, which is always a plus in my book. You only need like, five things to make it. And even my picky kids liked it!
Getting Started
First, I gathered all my ingredients. You’ll need some mandarin oranges, of course. Then some cottage cheese, a box of orange-flavored gelatin (you know, Jell-O), some Cool Whip, and some cream cheese. Make sure your cream cheese is at room temperature so it mixes well.
Mixing It Up
In a big bowl, I dumped in the cottage cheese and the cream cheese. I used a hand mixer to beat them together until they were nice and smooth. It’s important to mix well so you don’t have cream cheese lumps.

Then, I sprinkled in the dry Jell-O powder. No need to make the Jell-O, just add the powder. Mixed that in good, too. At this point, it started to look a little, well, orange.
Adding the Fluff
Next, I folded in the Cool Whip. Don’t stir it too much, you just want to gently incorporate it. This is what gives it that “fluff” texture, I guess.
The Final Touch
Finally, I drained the mandarin oranges really well and stirred those in. Try to get all the liquid out of the oranges, otherwise, the salad will be watery.
Chill Out
I covered the bowl and stuck it in the fridge for a few hours to chill. You could probably eat it right away, but it’s better when it’s cold and a little set.
The Verdict
Honestly, this Orange Fluff Salad turned out way better than I expected. It’s sweet, creamy, and has that nice citrusy flavor from the oranges. A nice dessert for a hot summer day. The kids loved it and it was very simple to make. I will make it again, for sure!
- Easy to make: Seriously, anyone can make this.
- Few ingredients: You probably have most of this stuff already.
- Tastes great: It’s like a creamsicle in salad form.
- Kid-approved: Even my little picky eaters liked it.
So, yeah, if you’re looking for a super simple and tasty dessert, give this Orange Fluff Salad a try. You won’t be disappointed!
