Okay, so I’ve been on this air fryer kick lately. It’s just so darn convenient! Today, I decided to tackle frozen coconut shrimp. I’d picked up a bag from the grocery store the other day, and it was just staring at me from the freezer, begging to be cooked.
First things first, I grabbed the bag of shrimp and preheated my air fryer. I set it to 400°F. While that was warming up, I took a quick look at the bag’s instructions. It had oven directions, but nothing specific for an air fryer. No biggie, I figured I’d just wing it and adjust as needed.
Once the air fryer was hot, I carefully arranged the frozen shrimp in the basket. I made sure they weren’t overlapping too much. I wanted them to get nice and crispy all over, you know?

- I set the timer for 8 minutes, thinking that would be a good starting point.
- After 4 minutes, I gave the basket a good shake to flip the shrimp around. They were already starting to turn golden brown!
- At the 8-minute mark, I checked them. Some looked perfectly done, others needed a little more time. So, I bumped the timer up for another 2 minutes.
- After the full 10 minutes, I took them out. They were golden, crispy, and smelled amazing!
My Cooking Process:
I let them cool for a couple of minutes (the hardest part, honestly), then served them up with some sweet chili sauce. Seriously, they were restaurant-quality. And so easy! Who needs takeout when you can make this at home?
Next time, I might try tossing them in a little extra coconut flakes before air frying, just for an extra layer of coconutty goodness. But even as is, they were a total win. Air fryer for the win again!
