Okay, so I’ve been craving Texas Roadhouse’s green beans lately. You know, the ones that are kinda bacon-y and savory? I figured, why not try to make them at home? So I did some digging, and honestly, most of the copycat recipes seemed way too complicated.
But I finally figured out a way that’s super easy and tastes pretty darn close to the real thing. First, I grabbed a big can of green beans – the cut kind, not the French style. I drained them really well, you don’t want them watery.
Then, I fried up some bacon. I used about four slices, and I cooked it until it was nice and crispy. I took the bacon out of the pan, but I left all that yummy bacon grease in there.

Next, I tossed the green beans into the pan with the bacon grease. I sprinkled in some salt, pepper, and a little bit of garlic powder. Don’t go crazy with the garlic, just a pinch will do. I also added a spoonful of brown sugar. I know, it sounds weird, but trust me, it works!
I stirred everything around and let it cook for a few minutes, just until the green beans were heated through and coated in all that goodness. Then I crumbled the cooked bacon and tossed it in with the beans.
Let’s Break It Down Real Quick
- Get a can of cut green beans, drain ’em.
- Fry up some bacon, keep the grease.
- Throw beans in the grease, add salt, pepper, tiny bit of garlic powder, and a spoonful of brown sugar.
- Cook for a few minutes.
- Crumble bacon, mix it in.
Seriously, that’s it. And let me tell you, these green beans were a hit! They were savory, a little sweet, and had that awesome bacon flavor. They tasted so much like Texas Roadhouse’s, I was pretty impressed with myself. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed! I am going to make it again tomorrow!
