Alright, folks, let’s talk about this Barilla no-boil lasagna recipe that’s been making the rounds. I finally gave it a shot, and I’m here to share my experience, no frills attached.
First off, I gathered my ingredients. I picked up a box of those Barilla No-Boil Lasagna noodles. I’m always skeptical of anything labeled “no-boil,” but hey, I’m open-minded. Then, I grabbed some ground beef, an onion, a couple of garlic cloves, because, let’s be real, garlic makes everything better. Also some other ingredients like fresh parsley and seasonings.
I started by browning the beef in a pan. While that was going, I chopped up the onion and the garlic. Once the beef was cooked, I tossed in the onion and garlic and let them soften up a bit.

Here’s where I deviated a little from the box instructions. Instead of layering the sauce directly onto the dry noodles, I decided to give the noodles a quick soak in hot water for about 10 minutes. Just a personal preference, I guess I like my lasagna to be a bit softer.
After soaking, I started assembling the lasagna in a baking dish. I spread a thin layer of sauce on the bottom, then added a layer of the soaked noodles. Then, I spooned some of the meat sauce over the noodles, followed by a sprinkle of cheese. I repeated these layers until I ran out of ingredients, ending with a layer of noodles topped with cheese.

I covered the dish with foil and popped it into a preheated oven. The box said to bake it for 25-30 minutes, but I ended up leaving it in for about 40 minutes, just to make sure it was nice and bubbly.
Once it was done, I let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. And you know what? It turned out pretty darn good! The noodles were cooked through, the sauce was flavorful, and the cheese was all melty and delicious. I even added some extra seasonings to the sauce, because why not?
So, there you have it. My experience with the Barilla no-boil lasagna recipe. It’s definitely a time-saver, and the result is a tasty, satisfying meal. And yes, I froze the leftovers, uncooked noodles and all, and they turned out just fine after baking. This recipe is easy, and everyone I’ve made it for loves it. Give it a try, and let me know what you think!
